Juniors
at Willie Thorne Snooker Centre
Since
the club became one of the first in Britain to host national junior
events regularly, the Willie Thorne Snooker Centre has become,
and remains to be, the biggest and most popular club for junior
events in England. Malcolm Thorne, club manager and brother of
Willie, has worked tirelessly over the years to give the nation's
young players the opportunities they need to succeed at the highest
level. Players the competitions at Willie Thorne's have helped
in the past include Ronnie O'Sullivan, Matthew Stevens as well
as new players such as 16-year-olds Mark Selby and Tom Ford, and
Luke Fisher. Despite these recent success stories, the club continues
to be committed to providing the best possible competitions for
juniors - nurturing the talents of the very newest stars such
as Jamie Cope and Gary Wilson.
