Handicaps at Willie Thorne Snooker Centre The handicap competitions held at the Willie Thorne Snooker Centre are now world-famous, especially the club's legendary Sunday Handicaps. Frequently attracting up to 100 players, the handicaps run late in to the evening and are most popular, offering any player a realistic chance of progressing through a competition. Players, professionals, amateurs and juniors alike, travel from all over Britain to compete in this widely-respected monthly competition. In addition to these Sunday Handicaps, the club hosts an annual Leicester Mercury Handicap, sponsored by the local newspaper.
