9) What are the best breaks at the World Championships?

The World Championships, the most notorious snooker event, recorded its first 147 maximum break in 1983 when the Canadian Cliff Thorburn, suffering from a cold, compiled one under the sleek and unforgettable commentary of Ted Lowe. The nineties saw three 147s - from three of the decade's - and game's - greats. Jimmy White became the second player to make a maximum in 1993 - and Stephen Hendry and Ronnie O'Sullivan both compiled perfect breaks in successive years.
