27th March
The snooker team were playing away at Quarry Green were they all
played well except D Grant who was still hung over from the night
before and we probably would have been better playing Stevie Wonder,
this resulted in the team only winning 6-1. The Darts Team were
at home where they played The Park Hotel they also won 6-3 Mally
Kami, John Davies and John hand were the players that got beat
and some-one said that ‘They couldn’t even THROW up, never mind
throw a dart’ hopefully next week they will redeem themselves.
Tuesday
28th March
Tuesday
the snooker tables were bouncing like a trampoline probably because
there had been some snooker coverage on the televisions.
Wednesday
29th March
Wednesday
was busy like a pack of bees because the happy hour was on till
9.00pm and the Champion League was on the big screen and we all
had the customers screaming for the Mancs to get beat. The quiz
night got off to a good start for one regular Norman Irvine who
netted £8.00 on the stand-up-bingo. Three luck customers also
had the chance to win a bit of cash on ‘Play your cards right’
where the prize money was up to £150.00 but no-one managed to
win it so the prize money goes up the following week.
Thursday
30th March
Thursday
the ladies darts were at home they started at 7.30pm and didn’t
finish till 11.30pm, all the games were tense, they all ended
up needing to hit double one, it has dart of the highest standard.
The snooker team were at home where D Grant made up for his defeat
in the week by scraping through on a black ball fight, the team
went on to win 7-0. The dart were also at home again John Hand
was beaten this meaning that he will be dropped for two games
because the team feel he isn’t at the standard the club require
for him to play in and have told him to practise a bit harder.
Saturday
1st April
Saturday
was a busy day yet again on the snooker tables customers trying
their hardest to be the next John Higgins or Ronnie O’Sullivan.
Regulars enjoy Saturdays at Qudos because having several televisions
situated around the bar can watch the horse racing but 99% of
the time they back horses who wouldn’t be fit for a job on Blackpool
Prom.
Sunday
2nd April
The
prize money for the Karaoke was up to £200.00 and all the regulars
were up trying to sing songs such as Elvis, Nat King Cole and
Robbie Williams, lucky enough the bar staff supplied ear-plugs.
Eventually the money was won by Margi Jones who only sang one
song Kylie Minogue’s No.1 hit ‘I should be so lucky’, it certainly
was for Margi who bought everyone a drink which was pleasantly
accepted by the regulars.
